![]() regardless of my skin color, or where I’m from. Therefore, I deserve to be treated with the same regards. I’m very disappointed in the kind of service this American Express lounge is providing, I have the same rights as every other guest/customer. It's also invite-only you can't apply without permission from Amex. I spoke to the manager Fabian, but he honestly didn’t seem to care at all. The Amex Centurion 'black' has an initiation fee of 10,000 and an annual fee of 5,000. I honestly felt discriminated against due to the fact that I was the only African American in the whole lounge, and I was the only one being denied service to. To make matter worst, some other guest came right after me and ordered 2 expresso martinis, she proceeded to make them without saying a word or giving any pushbacks. so I ordered one, when the same previous bartender came back to the bar and saw Christian making me the drink, she got so upset and started cussing him out in Spanish, which was so unprofessional, not only you’re arguing in front of your customers, but on top of that, you’re doing it in Spanish. Therefore, I asked him what kind of drinks can he make me, he stated “ I can make you expresso martini etc. 20 mins later I was ready for my second drink, that’s when I noticed another gentleman behind the bar. Ok, I politely asked her for a glass of champagne. As I approached the bar, I saw her making a martini for another guest, so I asked her if could have an expresso martini, and she bluntly said no she can’t, and I have to go downstairs for that. The bartender was extremely rude and clearly racist. Today I had the most horrible & discriminatory experience EVER. I felt sorry for the staff having to clean up and take care of this many people. ![]() At least I was comfortable and di not mind taking the extra steps to get something from the bar. Do not understand why people want to be so close t food and drinks when there are other areas to sit. When going to the food and beverage area get something it was a bit of chaos. I saw a steady stream of people after me coming in. The invite-only exclusivity and luxury perks are the main draws to an otherwise lackluster offering. I entered and saw a few open tables immediately, but pressed on in toward the window are near the food and drinks: OMG PACKED !!! So turned around to the open table area. The American Express Centurion Black Card isn’t for the 99 percent. This was on a Friday afternoon of a 3-day weekend When returning as prescribed I was immediately admitted. I had tried entering about 4 hours before (not knowing this rule) and was asked to return at 1525. The first rule is you can only enter 3 hours before your scheduled departure. One thing is, they stick by their rules, and I see why keep reading.
